Growing up overnight

Today I clocked another year,
Been reminded by all "Oh you're old .. my dear"
Here is a point I'd like to express, Isn't aging a continuous process?
They why remind me of it on my birthday
Its supposed to be my cake, my candle , basically a mirth day
